Marcelo Hoynosky won IFAW 2007 Animal Action Awards ceremony was held in Santa Monica , California on Thursday october 4th in conjunction with IFAW’s 15th annual Animal Action Week.
This was the first time this award was giving in the United States.
Seal Campaign Activist (Clark, NJ). Since the age of seven, this 8th grader has campaigned to end the Canadian seal hunt – promoting his message through his web site www.mypointis.net
Marcelo has generated feedback from all over the United States and abroad. Marcelo has even received letters from seal hunters in Canada telling him “It’s our business kid”. Such letters let Marcelo know that his message is really getting across to people and reaching those directly involved in the hunt. Most of the feedback is overwhelmingly positive with messages like “keep it up” and “thank you”.
Marcelo now support Frankie’ s programs and visit her in Costa Rica for an interview on her work helping the Olive Ridley turtles and the Telemaraton Canina Event next November 2010, dedicate to homeless pets in Costa Rica.
